Coral Reef Trio

A celebration of the ocean’s wild beauty, this set of three coral reef–inspired embroideries — Ocean Flow (2020), Ocean’s Garden (2020), and Coral Sea (2020) — invites you to step closer and lose yourself in their intricate depths. Each piece is meticulously hand-stitched, mounted within a deep frame so the corals can rise and fall in soft relief, allowing the textures to be seen — and almost felt — as they would in nature.

Working without a rigid plan, I stitch as the reef grows in my mind’s eye — letting colours flow and merge intuitively, mimicking the organic, untamed way life flourishes beneath the waves. Every thread is placed with care yet embraces the random rhythms of the sea, resulting in pieces that are alive with movement, depth, and light.

Together, these embroideries form a harmonious trio, each one unique yet connected — like three windows into the same vivid underwater world.
